Earlier this year I was looking at an old back catalogue of Ms Walker’s books and ebooks on some website that I can’t remember the name of, and read the blurb of this book and was really interested then my battery died on my laptop before I could even memorise the name of said ebook! I’ve since spent the past few months trying to find said ebook and finally found it after lots of clicking the back button and going through Ms Walker’s book list several times and purchased it via the kindle for Amazon button!
I’ll be keeping this review short and sweet very much like the book itself. I really enjoyed Never as it Seems, I can’t say I loved it because it was much too short and quick for me to fall into instant love with it but I really did enjoy it. It was a nice twist of contemporary romance with a dash of paranormal that really worked for me. I adored the character of Chloe; it wasn’t hard to feel for her and her situation and what happened to her and Leo. However, I wasn’t awfully fond of Leo, but I don’t think you’re meant to be. Happily Never as it Seems brought out the mean side of me, as I quite enjoyed Leo begging and pleading with Chloe and knowing that he totally screwed up with her and should have believed her and put his faith in her and had to basically get down on his knees and beg her forgiveness but of course Chloe didn’t let him beg and plead too much (damn you! ;).
Overall, Never as it Seems was an enjoyable quick and fast paced read that I enjoyed and would recommend to fans of Ms Walkers, short reads and people who like a mix with their romance genre’s (so erm... lots of people really!)
